We teamed up with Balfour Beatty Construction to provide assistance in a design build for a value engineered roof system.
We set out to meet all of the performance needs/requirements on the project that took into consideration their budget and offered to design a custom tailored roofing system. With our roof system we ended up saving the project 25% on cost without sacrificing a single performance requirement.
Our system design also took consideration the General Contractors schedule in regards to the interior build out. Our design allowed the contractor to save roughly 15 days on schedule and start their interior finishes earlier on the schedule. As anyone in construction knows saving money is nice, but you never have enough time.
At the end of the project we were able to provide a 1hr fire rating roof system, exceed local wind uplift requirements by 30%, provide a higher PSI system to resist puncture, and a 20 year NDL warranty, all while saving money.
